COVENANTS
To understand the Word of God one must obtain a thorough knowledge of
dispensations and the eight
Biblical Covenants. These Covenants
fall in two categories:
Ø Conditional - The conditional Covenant guaranteed that
God would do His part when the stipulated requirements made to man were met and
Ø Unconditional - The unconditional Covenant which were
promised and fulfilled by God dependent upon God’s power and sovereignty alone
for its fulfillment
The Biblical definition of a Covenant is that it originates and
ends with God. A Covenant is nothing like a human agreement. Man has nothing to
do with the operation of Covenants; God makes, re-establishes, or break a
Covenant at Will. There are eight
Covenants mentioned in the Bible that God made beginning from Old Testament
times up to time, as we know it is complete. Seven of the Covenants will be in
place before the Second Coming
of Christ Jesus, and the eighth
Covenant will be fulfilled when Christ
Earthly Kingdom is set up. The number eight is representative of New Beginnings and this is exactly what God intends.
Many Christians are taught that this Grace Age is the New Covenant made by God, but Christ
Jesus said, “This cup is the New Testament or Covenant [ratified] in My Blood,
which is shed (poured out) for you. Christ
Jesus is the Mediator in His
Blood for the Grace Age, which
makes this Grace Age, the New Testament Covenant in Christ Blood. The New Testament in Christ Blood was
inaugurated at the Last Supper and established at the Cross. It is described in
Scripture as being enacted on better promises.1
Through this promise, Christ Jesus has become for every man the path leading to
Eternal Life. Christ Jesus is the source of Eternal Salvation. He is the Gift that is offered to everyone
who believes and receives Him as Lord and Savior.2
Christ Jesus is the chief cornerstone in the building of
a Spiritual House. He is the Head of the Body that makes up the church that is being built during this Grace Age Dispensation.3 The Eighth Covenant is actually the New Covenant, which is yet future, and it will take place
sometime after Tribulation –
during the Millennium.
