WHAT BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIAN’S BELIEVE
Christian’s believe the Bible is the
inspired Word of God revealed through Christ, who is God incarnate or in the
flesh.1 Christians believe that more than thirty
writers wrote the Bible over a period from about 1400 B.C. up to approximately
A.D. 90. Christians believe that the Bible contains hundreds of subjects
written in dozens of styles. Christians believe that these men wrote the
accounts of history, poetry, and letters and its contents show matchless unity.2 Christians believe that each author
wrote as the Holy Spirit
inspired him.3 Christians believe that
God directed every word that was to be written in its original form.4 Christians believe that God worked through
these human authors in ways that allowed their personal styles and vocabularies
to be applauded.
Christians believe that the entire Bible was written as sixty-six
individual works that fit together flawlessly as a whole. Christians believe
that the Bible in its original format is error free, and perfect in Truth.
Christians believe that the Bible is a part of believers as believers are a
part of the family of God. Christians believe that God is the Supreme Being who
finds pleasure in fellowshipping with His creations. Christians
believe that God is
very
approachable, and He desires and deserves our total devotion, allegiance, and
love. Christians believe that after Salvation
is when believer’s friendship and fellowship with God begins. As believers, we
don't have to wait for our earthly exit to enjoy this fellowship with God; it
begins now and continues throughout all Eternity.5
Christians believe that because the Holy Spirit indwells us, our spirit
is made alive because we have been made right with God through Christ Jesus.
Christians believe as
children
of God we share His treasures, everything God has given to His Son, He has made
believers partakers, joint heirs of the same. Christians believe that if we are
to share in Christ’ glory, we must also share in His suffering.6 Christians believe that if we should
wander into some other teachings beyond the Doctrines of Christ, we will not have fellowship with God, but
we are to continue in the teachings of Christ through the writings of the Apostle Paul to have fellowship with
both the Father and the Son.7
Christians believe God has assigned believers the task of reconciling His lost
souls back to Him. This means that we all are ministers; we are ministers of the Reconciliation.8 Christians believe it is our duty as Christians to bring souls into the Body of Christ by letting them know
God is in Christ reconciling the world to Himself and that He no longer counts
people’s sins against them when they believe.
Christians believe that this is the
message believers are to share with others. God made Christ who never sinned to
be the sacrificial offering for sin. Christians believe we could only be made
right with God through Christ Jesus.9
Many Christians believe that we were forgiven of all our sins, when we were
buried in spiritual baptism with Christ and that at that same time we were
baptized in His death and raised to new life with His Resurrection because we trusted in the mighty Power of God that raised Christ from
the dead.10 Christians believe we
were dead because of our sins and trespasses and that our sinful nature was not
cut away when we accepted Christ Jesus as Lord. Christians believe that after
accepting Christ Jesus, God made us alive in Him, forgiving all our sins.11 Christians believe that nothing can
ever separate us from God’s love except unbelief.
Christians believe not even the powers
of Hell can keep God’s love away from true believers.12 Christians believe in God promises
that He will teach us His ways, we know that He has written His Laws in our
hearts. Christians believe His ways are not automatically written in our hearts
and minds we must learn them for our self. Christians believe that there are
certain things that must be done in order to be drawn closer towards God and to
receive His instructions that teach us how to stay saved.13 Christians believe that we must pray
always and that God did not establish any particular way for us to pray, prayer
comes naturally, and our Father gets pleasure out of communicating with us in
prayer. 14 Christian’s believe that
we can pray while lying down or sitting up. We can pray aloud or silently, we
know that God is just a whisper away from everyone. Prayer is simply talking to
God as Father in the name of Christ Jesus His son. Because Christ Jesus paid
our sin debt we were reconcile to God our Creator.
Christians believe He is our Abba, and
as His children we have access to Him twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week
without fear. Christians believe that believers can come before the throne of
the Creator of the Universe
boldly and communicate with Him freely.15
Christians believe that we can share with Him our intimate thoughts, desires,
and fears. Christians believe that when we have concerns that are too big for
us to handle, we are encouraged to give them over to Him.16
Christians believe there are no conditions or requirements to meet before going
to the Throne of Grace.
Christians believe believers are to set time aside daily to be alone with God,
and to pray, read His Word to grow spiritually.17
Christians believe that reading the
Bible is one of the ways that we hear from God, and that reading the Bible is
the way God has chosen to share Himself with us. Christians believe that
through reading the Bible, we learn of His promises and how to live the Christian life successfully on earth as Christians.18 Christians believe that it is most
important that believers keep in mind the fact that we have an adversary, the
devil who walks around seeking whom he may devour.19 Christians believe that because of
this we must build ourselves up in the Word of God, and put on the whole armor
of God to be protected from this enemy.20
Christians believe that the Word of God will cleanse, sculpt and mold each
individual believer into vessels that will please Him. Christians believe the
Word will make us fit for the position He is calling us to.21 Christians believe that the events of
the Bible are rooted in the real world, and its accuracy has been extensively
confirmed.
The Bible is our guide through this
life and as believers; we must make it a part of our lives on a daily basis for
spiritual growth. God shows us how various passages of His Word apply to our
life, and because we love the Lord, we love His Word. Christians believe as
members of the Body of Christ we are the only spiritually powerful entity on
earth.22 Christians believe that the church is
the Body, and Christ Jesus is
the Head of the Body.23 We believe that only regenerated persons make up the Body of Christ, and that everyone in
the Body is dependent upon each
other, and everyone grafted into it has something to contribute.24 Christians believe God has given each
of us something vital to put in to the work of ministry, and if we are not sure
what it is, He will let us know when we seek and ask Him.25 Christians believe that local church
involvement is
important
and participation should not be neglected.26
Christians believe that being members of
the Body of Christ has its
benefits and rewards. Christians believe that unity in the Body of Christ gives the church
tremendous spiritual power against Satan and the present evil in this world.27 Christians believe that when we are
seeking a church home we should ask the Lord to be led to a church where
spiritual needs are being met and where the spirit man is nourished in
spiritual Truth. Christians believe God to lead us to a church where:
Ø
The
people love Him
Ø
Each
other, and
Ø
Serve
Him by example
Christians believe that the Doctrinal Teachings, and Practices spelled out in the Bible
must be followed by the church and must be in accordance to the writings of the
Apostle Paul who is the Apostle to the Gentiles.28
